Welcome to SheShapesBehavior: Understanding Behavior Can Change Lives
Hi, I’m Morgan Mroz, a special education teacher and ABA graduate student. I started SheShapesBehavior because I wanted a space where families, educators, and professionals could explore behavior in a way that’s practical and real. There’s so much talk about ABA being “scientific” or “technical,” and while that’s definitely true, the heart of it is much simpler. ABA about understanding people and helping them succeed.
I know firsthand how challenging it can be to support learners, whether at home, in the classroom, or in the clinical setting. Sometimes it feels like nothing works, and other times, small victories seem huge! My goal with this blog is to share strategies, tips, and insights that actually make a difference, without overwhelming you with jargon or fluff. SheShapesBehavior will provide you with tools and approaches you can use implement with ease.
One of the things I love most about ABA is that it’s not just about teaching skills or managing behavior. It’s about connection, trust, and understanding. When you take the time to understand why someone is doing what they’re doing, you can respond in a way that supports growth, learning, and positive relationships. Even small changes can have a big impact. For example, teaching a student to ask for help instead of acting out doesn’t just reduce frustration. It also builds confidence and trust, and helps them communicate in a meaningful way. That’s the kind of change we’re talking about here!
Through this blog, I’ll be sharing posts on things like building rapport with students, using reinforcement in ways that actually connect, supporting positive behavior at home and school, and culturally responsive practices. I also want to highlight real stories and examples so you can see how these strategies work in the real world. My aim is to make behavior science approachable, actionable, and relevant to your everyday life.
I also want this space to be interactive. I hope you’ll reach out, ask questions, and tell me what’s working for you—or what isn’t. The goal isn’t perfection. It’s progress. It’s trying small strategies, seeing what works, and learning along the way. Supporting learners is hard work, and it’s even harder when you feel like you’re doing it alone. I want this blog to feel like a conversation, a place where you can find ideas, encouragement, and practical tips to help you navigate the challenges and celebrate the wins.
At the end of the day, behavior shapes everything we do. It shapes how we learn, interact, and navigate our environment. And understanding behavior is one of the most powerful tools we have to make life better for ourselves and others. That’s why I’m here. That’s why SheShapesBehavior exists.
I’m excited to share this journey with you and hope you’ll follow along. Together, we can take small steps that lead to meaningful, lasting change. Every strategy, every insight, every moment of connection counts. Understanding behavior isn’t just a tool—it’s a way to change lives, and I can’t wait to do that with you.
